The Soma Series

A holistic and comprehensive rebalancing of the whole body

The Series is an eleven session therapeutic container for deeper and sustained change, for the whole body to unwind and reset. By encouraging balance and awareness to all the parts, the body is reminded of it’s harmonious and self-restorative nature. The Series is especially supportive for resolving chronic pain or tension, compensation patterns from injury or surgery, improving posture and mobility, and improving whole body connection and awareness.

A focused, intentional, and layered system that treats the entire being

Each session has a different focus and layer upon each other to help you connect to your core, release layers of tension, and create more clarity and ease of movement. Clients are guided in evolving their movement patterns to move more effortlessly and simply. In addition to manual therapy, the sessions may incorporate photos, drawings, journal logs, readings, and movement activities to help facilitate inner and outer body connection.

The 11 Sessions

Each session layers upon the next in an intelligent sequence.

  • Focus: Releasing the tissue surrounding the rib cage and lengthen the lower back.

    Result: A sense of lightness and well-being, a more upright posture and fuller deeper breathing.

  • Focus: The body’s foundation: lower legs and feet.

    Results: A sense of being firmly grounded and in touch with reality.

  • Focus: The relationship between pelvis, rib cage and shoulder girdle.

    Results: Expanded breathing, greater relaxation and more immediately available energy.

The Sleeve

Opening up and rebalancing outer layers

The Core

Rebalancing the pelvis and core fascial lines

  • Focus: Adjust and lengthen the center line, or core, that runs vertically through the body.

    Results: Better balance and freedom of movement. Walking takes a fraction of the energy typically expended.

  • Focus: Release the muscles of the neck, face and head.

    Results: More softened and relaxed appearance in the face, with increased self-reliance and personal power.

Integration

Repatterning movement and integrating whole body awareness

  • Focus: Integrate first the lower, then the upper body in a new and more efficient manner.

    Results: Less stress and increased energy as the body’s structure becomes better aligned with gravity.

  • Focus: Release and integrate the arms and shoulders

    Results: A lighter experience of the arms, greater ease through the shoulders, an experience of more connection through the entire torso.

  • Focus: Integrate the whole body in a new and more efficient manner.

    Results: Less stress and increased energy as the body’s structure becomes better aligned with gravity.

$180 per session

  • 11 sessions in total

  • Each session is 90 - 120 minutes long

  • Best spaced 1-2 weeks apart for synergy and momentum

Sessions & Rates

If you are curious about the series or wondering if it’s the right fit, you can try the first session or the first three sessions as a standalone treatment, and decide if you want to continue on.

Clients new to Soma and bodywork may also first schedule an introductory session which is a lighter full body session following the principles of Soma Structural Integration.
